Gabriela was a strong leader of women with disabilities in Oaxaca, Mexico.
She died in 1996. Gabriela's vision was that all women had a right to an education
and opportunities for employment. Many women with disabilities in Oaxaca have no
education beyond grammar school and no opportunities for employment. WILI supports
Gabriela's dream of a restaurant in Oaxaca that would be owned and managed by
women with disabilities.

Rosa lives in a small pueblo near Oaxaca City. She is a talented seamstress who
wants to be able to make clothes and then sell them in her village. She is very
skilled in embroidery! Rosa hopes to open a small shop where she can also sell
fabric, thus being able to buy fabric at a discount for her own sewing needs.
